Munnar

Munnar is a beautiful hill station famous for its tea estates, exotic lush greenery and craggy peaks and is located in the Western Ghats in the state of Kerala. It is a summer resort for the British during the British raj. Tourists come here to see the vast tea plantations of the area. Major attractions of Munnar

Atukkad Waterfalls It is 2kms away from Munnar amidst beautiful hills and green jungles, this pristine waterfall makes for romantic escapades and picnic site. It is the most popular destination for tourist and ideal place for trekking and picnic.

Pothamedu view point This is the spectacular spot visited by large number of tourist every year and is situated 6km off Munnar, is adorned with stretching hills and lush green mountains. This location is perfect for tourists, who love to view of refreshing plantations of tea, coffee and cardamom. One can enjoy the serenity of the place and drenched in the glory of lush green valleys. Trekkers and hikers will love this place.

Tata tea or KDHP Museum This is an enterprise situated in the Nallathanni Estate of Tata Tea around 2km away from Munnar, the KDHP museum showcases a variety of antiquities. A 30 minute documentary feature by the museum will take you through a historical sojourn of the place. Tourist will also proceed to the factory to understand how tea is processed.

Chokramudi peak It is an isolated elevated piece of a hill that hooks you for hours and is situated at 7200 ft. above sea level in the Eravikulam National Park. It is one of the highest peak in Munnar and it provides fabulous view of the surrounding valleys and mountain covered with stunning dense forestation and lush green tea plantation. You can also get a beautiful view of Idukki Dam located nearby.

Kundala Dam & Lake It is situated in the lap of lush jungle and is 23 km off Munnar. This arch dam is famous for its Kashmiri-Shikara boat rides and pedal boat rides.

Elephant arrival spot One can board Elephant ride here to explore the wilderness of the region and is located 18 km away from Munnar.

Echo point, Munnar It is a very beautiful place one should visit while travelling to Munnar, which is itself situated at the confluence of three mountain streams- Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala and is a very scenic place to visit. Echo point got its name from the natural echo phenomenon occurs here. Once you scream here it is a fun to hear your voice reverberate around the attraction again and again.

Best time to visit Munnar

September to May is the best time to visit this beautiful destination. This is the monsoon season and is a great time to visit hill station if you are looking for a quite vacation.
